Workshops/Tutorials
Proposed workshops and tutorials:
Prospective organizers are invited to propose workshops and tutorials for special consideration at IMDC-IST 2021. These will effectively be self-contained sub-conferences under the main IMDC-IST 2021 umbrella. Workshop organizers will be responsible for the organization (call-for-papers, paper submission, review and selection) of a self-contained workshop conference of either half-day or full-day duration on a key topic in Internet technologies or applications. A link from the main conference website can be provided to details of the workshop as provided by the organizer. Organizers of successful workshops (i.e. those approved by the program committee and accepting sufficient papers) will be exempt from the conference fee (although we cannot help with travel, accommodation expenses, etc.).
Prospective workshop organizers should contact the conference chair or program chair with details of:
Workshop title
A single sentence
A summary of the topic
Two or three paragraphs, including details of the expected scope of the call for papers and a link to the main workshop website. Details must include a call-for-papers and a list of committee members/reviewers. This is to be maintained externally from the main IMDC-IST 2021 site.
Workshop duration: Half-day/Full day
Cost:
Our standard fee is £150 per delegate for a full-day workshop (see registration page), which includes an e-copy of the IMDC-IST 2021 conference proceedings, lunch and refreshments, although this may vary depending on requirements.
A brief biography of the organizer
One to two paragraphs. Clearly, we expect workshop organizers to be eminent in their field.

1. EERT 2021 – 6th International Workshop on Energy Efficient and Reconfigurable Transceivers (EERT): Towards a Green Internet of Things
A summary of the topic:
In the future communications will be pervasive in nature allowing users to access at the “touch of button” to attain any service, at any time, on any device. This requires a future handset design that is multi-mode in nature, with multiple air-interfaces, continuously scanning for available network to ensure a seamless service delivery. Beyond-3G and 4G applications paradigms have spurred extensive research into reconfigurable transceivers, and software-defined radios; two terms that go hand-in-hand to create a truly portable, ergonomically feasible and energy friendly mobile terminal. However, practical implementations of future handsets are still in their infancy and significant research challenges example the developments of 5G still lie ahead in terms of complete multi-standard integration in the baseband and RF front-end. This workshop targets some high quality research and practical case studies in the very active field of reconfigurable transceivers, and beyond that green networking to provide design recommendations for tomorrow’s ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) networks and handsets that will support a whole host of future services and e-applications with reduced energy cost. The scientific works presented here provide a step further toward overcoming the so called energy trap, which is seen by many as the next stumbling block in the migration towards and beyond the current systems. This workshop envisions contributions including different aspects on Energy Efficient Reconfigurable Transceivers and Green Networks. Prospective authors are invited to submit original and unpublished works on the following research topics, but not limited to:
-
MEMS filtering
-
Energy Efficient Power Amplifier Design
-
Reconfigurable Antennas and Matching Networks
-
Beam forming and beam steering antenna arrays.
-
Software Defined Radio and Reconfigurable Platforms
-
Energy Efficient baseband signal processing
-
Energy Efficient networking topologies
-
Cooperative and Cognitive Networks
-
Network Coding Cross-layer and cross-System optimization strategies for wireless multimedia
-
Short-Range Communications
-
Energy Efficient Radio Resource and Mobility Management
-
Device and system level modelling
-
Active Antennas
-
Integrated circuits and antennas
-
Systems Architectures and Applications

2. Importance of eLearning & Blended Learning in Institutes of Higher Education (eLBL-IHE 2021)
A summary of the topic:
e-Learning has become an educational technique due to its influential force in higher education. The convergence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) provides powerful tools to introduce new educational technologies as well as the usage of online applications. Iraqi Institutes of Higher Education face a challenge in adapting to on-going changing market needs.
An expedient way of fulfilling such requirements is to change to e-learning, the Internet, up-to-date IT infrastructure, an access to global web and educational technology. e-Learning has become an educational technique due to its influential force in higher education.
